What's my background?
I graduated in Behavioural Sciences (Psychology), believing my career lay in changing the face of forensic psychology (green and excitable as I was). About five minutes into my first degree-related interview at Rampton Hospital, I had a harsh epiphany, quickly romping into a career in recruitment. Here I stayed for 23 years, including five years running my own consultancy and specialising in HR and L&D recruitment.
The last five years I have spent in a dynamic, high-growth infrastructure business with responsibility for the strategic creation and direction of the People function, including HR, Talent acquisition, Learning and development and reward, integrating six acquisitions and differing cultures, and transforming the people proposition for the Group. An amazing, if not often-overwhelming experience.
What do I do at Gradconsult?
Working with Rebecca and the wider Gradconsult team, I am responsible for the strategic development of our Employer partnerships. This means developing business relationships and creating bespoke client programmes for delivery within talent acquisition (early careers through to exec hires), onboarding, culture and engagement, coaching and development (early careers and leadership).
It is an expansive and extremely exciting remit.
