How would we sum it up?

Riverside Automation is a technical specialist engineering business based in the suburbs of Sheffield, and they are keen to recruit an enthusiastic engineering graduate to join their high calibre team. We don’t expect you to have a detailed technical knowledge of their industry, but they are looking for a willingness to learn and a positive attitude towards challenges. If you want to start your engineering career in a supportive environment, where each individual is helped to fulfil their potential, then this is the role for you.

Your key responsibility as a Graduate Engineer will be to support the experienced Engineers on control systems and automation projects for clients. There is a huge variety of clients and projects to work on, from logic controllers to IT or Electrical specialisms. As you develop, you will quickly be given more responsibility to lead your own small projects. Whilst delivering real work in the role, you will simultaneously be developing your technical skills and product knowledge. At Riverside Automation, we are focused on staff development, so you can be assured of a supportive working environment. Typical activities might include:

  • PLC systems and networks
  • PC based SCADA systems
  • Control panel design
  • Process control and instrumentation
  • Software Development
  • Electrical Installation Design
  • Project Management

What’s the business all about?

Riverside Automation is a well-regarded professional integrator and supplier of industrial control systems such as Programmable Logic Controllers, SCADA & HMI graphical user interfaces, electrical panels, IT and networks. Established over 25 years ago, our offices are in Nether Edge, Sheffield. We are an IIP (Investors in People) accredited business, so we have lots of great people practices in place to help grow and develop their staff. The team varies in age and experience, from those who have completed a few years in the industry, to those nearing retirement, which means a very healthy balance, which is rarely achieved in a high-technology industrial company. Currently 10 of our staff are Chartered Engineers and we actively encourage others to pursue professional recognition. To find out more, visit: www.riverauto.co.uk
