Graduate & early careers programmes

Our team has over 80 years combined experience running graduate, apprentice and early careers programmes (spanning attraction, recruitment, development and retention) for businesses such as the Co-operative Group, HJ Heinz, Barclays, Merrill Lynch, Asda, Jaguar Land Rover, Northern Foods and Grant Thornton. Between us we have amassed more than 25 industry awards managing programmes that have been diverse in nature, and have included the following:

  • Recruiting and developing intakes of 1000+ graduates globally per annum
  • Recruiting and developing across multiple (up to 30) business streams/graduate programmes concurrently
  • Managing budgets of £60million+, spanning ten-year time horizons, including graduate attraction, recruitment, development, salaries, progression and retention
  • Managing direct graduate teams of up to 100 people and matrix training teams of several hundred, using a centre of expertise, devolved graduate model
  • Managing internal stakeholders up to and including CEO and board level sponsors
  • Targeting, tiering and partnering with up to 100 Universities in any one annual campaign
  • Attracting and managing in excess of 100,000 applicants in an annual campaign
  • Designing and running both functional/technical and general management programmes
  • Designing, delivering and managing blended development programmes including work experience, apprentices, placements, internships, graduates and emergent leader audiences

Our portfolio of work in this space is varied but tends to focus on; early careers strategy, programme design, university/education partnerships, employer brand, recruitment, development and retention. We don’t have set products or services to ‘sell’ to employers, rather we design board content or workshops, facilitate focus groups/consultation processes, deliver coaching, conduct research, develop strategy or design and manage complex longitudinal programmes – all curated to suit the strategic objectives, culture and budgets of our clients.

To bring this to life, here are some examples of smaller and larger pieces of work we have undertaken for employer clients in the graduate and early careers programme space:

  • Global strategic review and redesign of the graduate recruitment process
  • SME consultation and support to find, hire, develop and keep early careers/graduate talent
  • Design of assessment materials including interviews, group exercises, in-tray exercises
  • Consultation, design and delivery of a new group wide graduate scheme
  • Board-level keynotes/consultation and line manager training on early careers
  • University targeting strategy research, data analysis, recommendations and reports
  • Specialist sector insight sessions/coaching for future talent teams
  • ROI (return on investment) review of existing early careers programmes
  • Design and delivery of development programmes (end to end or one-off workshops)
