What’s my background?
I graduated from Sheffield Hallam University in 2021 with a BSc (Hons) in Geography and an MSc in Environmental Management. After graduating, I worked as a Higher Education Engagement Assistant at HeppSY, a UniConnect funded programme. Working with students who are from low uptake to HE areas and those from disadvantaged backgrounds encouraged my passion for inclusivity and widening participation. Whilst in this role I was in charge of HeppSY’s social media, as well as taking a lead on aspects of their set of Headline Projects – from communications, to operations, to admin, I properly got stuck in!
My aim here at Gradconsult is to inspire our graduates to pursue their own passions in life, and to provide them with the information they need to make a decision that’s right for them. As my mum always says: you make the decisions you do based on the information that you have at the time, and nobody can fault you for that! In joining Gradconsult, I have been able to move from helping FE students into HE to helping graduates get into their dream jobs – the next logical step, I think!
What do I do at Gradconsult?
As a project consultant, I work on the RISE Scheme – making sure candidates have a smooth and enjoyable journey through their application process. I am the Candidate Engagement Manager, so I manage all things candidate-facing, from setting up assessment centres to solving candidates’ technical queries. I am looking forward to taking full control of the next few RISE cohorts and working alongside my wonderful Gradconsult colleagues on other projects too!
I have also been involved in some of our other funded projects, including:
- Delivering the session "This is me - a guide to personal branding" as part of the All Wales Programme
- Conducting assessment centres with ARK Teacher Training

- House plants! I practically live in a jungle
- Professor Iain Stewart and his love of all things geography/geology
Pet peeves
- Having low phone battery (a chronic issue, unfortunately)
- Places where you have to pay 20p to use the loo
- Autocorrect changing the word ‘definitely’ to ‘defiantly’ – they do not mean the same thing!!
